Frequently Asked Questions

Rigid Signs Explained:

What Materials are good for outdoor usage?

Both ACM (AKA Dibond / Signabond) and PVC are great for printed signs in outdoor conditions. Acrylic also holds up outdoors but is commonly replaced with Lexan/ polycarbonate for more durability as acrylic is easy to crack.

How long do Rigid Signs Last?

Whether ACM, PVC or you can expect to get around 5 to 7 years of use before major fading starts to occur. Indoors the lifespan is much longer. Direct sun exposure is the most common cause of sign degradation.

What Size should my Sign be?

This is very dependent on the use of the sign and from what distance it will be viewed from.  For example a 6inch letter is easily readable at 60ft and becomes illegible at 150ft.

How are Rigid Signs Installed

There are a variety of attachment methods used for this style of signage. They can be installed with H-Stakes, on Wood Posts, wall mounted, and even suspended or projecting. Let us know the final location of your sign and we will adapt the best method of installation for you.
